Our Mission
We are Vermont’s cannabis professionals that have come together to establish and protect a fair and sustainable cottage cannabis industry.
We are growers. We are retailers. We are distributors. We are labs. We are chefs and food makers. We are processors and hash makers. We are the farmers and neighbors that will put Vermont on the map for world-renowned craft cannabis, just like our craft beer, cheese, and maple syrup industries. We see Vermont as the premier state for locally produced, world-class quality cannabis and related products.
As the largest member-based cannabis non-profit in the state, Vermont Growers Association is a non-partisan, mutual benefit, trade association. We represent the people that make up Vermont’s emerging cannabis industry. The mission of Vermont Growers Association is to establish, preserve, and protect Vermont's cannabis industry by advancing the interests of independent family farms and small businesses and supporting an equitable, viable, craft-centric, small business-driven cannabis marketplace through advocacy, education, and marketing.
As more states legalize recreational cannabis, VGA supports ending prohibition of cannabis as-quickly-a-possible in Vermont, but it must provide a fair, equitable, and accessible economic opportunity to our local farmers and small businesses, and restore justice to those in our community harmed by cannabis prohibition. Vermont has more state-registered small businesses, per capita, than any other state in the country, and our emerging legal cannabis industry must follow that cottage-industry model to be successful.
In order to help provide Vermonter’s and policymakers with clear and sustainable principles in establishing a legal cannabis market, and in strengthening the culture of cannabis in our state, we’ve developed a comprehensive platform to serve as a foundation for success and to put Vermont’s craft cannabis on the nationwide industry map.
